Surat is going green

Surat the diamond city of India participated in an event organized by Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM and Essar. The event ‘Walk The Shoe’ gathered a huge crowd consisting of people from all walks of life along with NGO’s and local groups of the city. The walk was an initiative to promote the idea of building a better, greener, safer and fitter Surat.
The participants received Eco-friendly cloth bags especially designed for car owners to use along with T shirts with the logo of ‘Walk The Shoe’ printer over the front.The activity was in all a fun effort to spread awareness about the environment and an initiative to help educate the public about the environment’s depleting resources.
To top it off and add a few fun elements, walkers were cheered during the hour long walk at various designated points by street artists and jugglers. Once participants reached the finale point outside Rahul Raj mall they were entertained by Mirchi’s RJ Harsh and RJ Rahil. The finale was held with a special dance performance and appreciation of the most enthusiastic walkers and participants.
